Raunds Temperance Band has appointed a new conducting team. Jonathan Pippen joins the Third Section Midland band as Musical Director, with James Hobbis taking on the role of Assistant Conductor.
Performer and conductor
Jonathan is regarded as one of the finest trombone players of his generation, and is a former solo trombonist with BTM, Tredegar, Brighouse & Rastrick and the Central Band of the RAF.
He has performed with many leading orchestras and professional stage productions and more recently has conducted the likes of Staines Brass, Parc & Dare, and the Staffordshire Band.
James Hobbis is a highly respected tuba player and conductor based in Birmingham.
Now studying for a Masters degree in Tuba Performance with scholarship at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, he is in demand both as an orchestral player and in other ensemble contexts.
