A new work by composer Max Stannard has been selected as the new anthem for the 2018 Brassfest initiative.
His inspirational work entitled, 'Into the Future' was chosen by the panel of Philip Harper, Gavin Somerset and Christopher Bond, and has now been published by Pennine Music.
Even more numbers
Last year saw over 100 bands take part in successful BrassFestUK events. This year, it is hoped the numbers are just as strong, if not better for events that will take place over the weekend of Friday 6th — Sunday 8th July.
There are currently 135 bands and events taking place and it is hope most of these bands will perform 'Into the Future' as part of their programme.
BrassFest organiser Rob Tompkins told 4BR: "I'm really pleased with Max's piece.
He has worked with Pennine Music to get both versions of the piece ready and I am delighted that Pennine Music will once again be offering it at just £7 for download and £10 for the printed version."
Cory recording
Rob will now be heading to Parc Hall to record Cory Band playing 'Into the Future' and this recording will be made available to bands to listen to through www.brassfestuk.com and penninemusic.com
He added: "I would like to thank Pennine Music for sponsoring the event, to Gavin for all his time in working with Max to get the pieces ready, to the panel for an excellent choice and to Cory for kindly offering their time to record the 2018 anthem."
