4BR has been informed that Leigh Baker has parted company with the Hepworth Band after a productive 18 month musical relationship.

Appointed in November 2016, he led the Yorkshire band at the Brass at the Guild Hall, Yorkshire Area and Grand Shield contests as well as a number of local march and hymn tune events.

Acclaimed

A critically acclaimed performance saw the band come sixth at the recent Yorkshire Regional Championships, although they found themselves relegated to the Senior Cup following a disappointing 17th place at the Grand Shield contest in Blackpool on the weekend.

I've enjoyed my time with Hepworth and wish them well, but it's time to move onLeigh Baker

Enjoyed

The tenure also saw a number of highly regarded concert performances as well as collaborations with the likes of folk singer Roger Davies, with Leigh telling 4BR: "I've enjoyed my time with Hepworth and wish them well, but it's time to move on."
