Taff Vale looks for foundation help

Taff Vale Brass is looking for help with their tuba foundation work to keep building towards a bright future.

Taff Vale
Taff Vale Brass has already tasted title winning success at the Welsh Area this year

The newly crowned Welsh Regional Third Section champion Taff Vale Brass is finding that success brings challenges both on and off the contest stage.

Following their Brangwyn Hall success they followed it up with victory at the first Welsh League contest of the year under MD, Gareth Ritter, with all eyes now firmly focussed on the Welsh National Eisteddfod in Cardiff in August followed by the National Finals in Cheltenham in September.

Tuba help

Despite outstanding support from a number of generous affiliates and the loans of much needed instruments from the likes of Tongwynlais Temperance Band, Newport Borough, Ebbw Valley, Blaina and RAF St Athan Brass Bands, the band still needs help to gain access to long term loans or purchases of tubas.

As with any new band, instruments are a premium. We have been very lucky that the majority of our players have their own, but we now need to try and obtain a set of tubasBand spokesperson

Options

A spokesperson told 4BR: "As with any new band, instruments are a premium. We have been very lucky that the majority of our players have their own, but we now need to try and obtain a set of tubas.

We are grateful for all the help we have received but we have just about exhausted our options.

If anyone can help for a loan or possible sale then please get in touch — they will be put to good use."
