The Enderby Band has accepted the resignation of Musical Director, Simon Gresswell.

Simon's experience enabled the band to enter an extended period of success.

They claimed a hat-trick of victories at the popular Shirebrook Entertainment Contest along with wins at Wood Farm and more recently the Wychavon Festival of Brass, where they were awarded the prizes for the 'most entertaining programme' in both the First and Championship Sections.

National qualification

Alongside other podium successes, the band also qualified for the National Finals in September this year and took part in a number of prestigious concert events.

Gratitude

An Enderby Band spokesperson said: "We would like to place on record our gratitude to Simon for his meticulous concert and contest preparation.

We also pay tribute to his extensive playing experience which he translated into his conducting, which encouraged and inspired us to flourish and grow under his guidance. We wish him well in his future career."
