Full up in Shirebrook as Entertainment contest gains record response

The 2018 Shirebrook Town Music Festival Brass Band Entertainment Contest has attracted a record entry.

Shirebrook
The Shirebrook Entertainment Contest has attracted a record field of competitors.

The 'full-up' signs have been posted well in advance for the 2018 Shirebrook Town Music Festival 'Brass Band Entertainment Contest'.

The event has attracted a record line-up of 15 competitors for the fourth annual contest which will take place on Sunday 8th July at Shirebrook Leisure Centre, in Shirebrook, Nottinghamshire.

The success will certainly please Shirebrook Town Council, which continues to lead the way in the proactive promotion of brass banding as a centre piece of its cultural events calendar.

Delighted

A spokesperson for the contest told 4BR. "We are delighted by the response, which has come through hard work, excellent organisation and proactive promotion coupled to a family friendly approach to both competitors and our audience.

We know the event has widespread appeal and if any other bands wish to put their name on a waiting list we will be delighted."
