Brighouse & Rastrick has announced the signing of Connor Lennon on soprano cornet with immediate effect.
Connor joins the 2017 National Champion after Dominic Longhurst reluctantly decided to focus on furthering his trumpet playing career in the orchestral world.
Having graduated from Huddersfield University, Connor studied trumpet under Opera North's Mike Woodhead and soprano cornet with Phillip McCann.
Phillip signed Connor as soprano to Carlton Main Frickley Colliery in 2014, where he has enjoyed four highly successful years with the Yorkshire band — claiming the Brian Evans Memorial Trophy at the British Open in 2017.
Thank you
Commenting on the move, Connor told 4BR: "I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Carlton Main for the last four and a half years and for the friendships I've made there.
I'm really looking forward to starting a new chapter of my career with Brighouse & Rastrick and welcome the new challenges ahead."
