Radio: All Brass Radio

Dr Jim Fox has plenty of brilliant music to listen to with his latest selections.

All Brass Radio
Dr Jim Fox brings you plenty of brilliant music

Last month there was a huge amount of movement in our playlist, with 60 tracks dropping off to be replaced by 50 new ones.

One of those added was Hepworth Band's latest CD, but the rest were rotations — showing just how popular some tracks have become over the past few years. Thankfully, we have a huge library of tracks, so no one missed out!

Growing audience

As our audience continues to grow, it has also become much more varied in its choices.

The tracks in the Top 20 are now leading towards a serious side. Kirsty Abbotts playing with Carlton Main Frickley has been in the Top 5 for a long period of time. There are many lighter pieces though such as 'Fat Bottom Girls' by Ebbw Valley Brass.

There has seemed to be a slowdown in the number of CDs coming out in the last several months, although April promises plenty of new releases.

Commercial free

All Brass Radio plays only brass bands (with one or two surprises). It plays tracks from both the latest CDs and the best of days gone by. It is commercial-free thanks to the donors.

Tune in at www.AllBrassRadio.com to listen to great brass music and vote on the tracks you like the best or dislike. The playlist is primarily controlled by the listeners.
