Turner prize for Brighouse & Rastrick

National Champion announces Vice Presidency link with celebrity chef and long time Brighouse fan Brian Turner CBE.

Brian Turner
Brian Turner CBE has been a life long supporter of Brighouse & Rastrick Band.

The National champion Brighouse & Rastrick has announced that lifelong fan and television celebrity chef Brian Turner CBE has become their new Honorary Vice-President.

Huge boost

Band President Lyndon Stacey told 4BR: "I'm delighted that Brian has accepted my invitation to join us in this role.

His passion for the band is something we have appreciated since he played with us on Whit Friday some years ago, and his visit to our final rehearsal before our National Championship victory last year gave the players a huge boost in morale.

The massive amount of work Brian does for many good causes makes him an incredibly busy person and so we are very proud to have him associated with Brighouse & Rastrick in this way."

I was bowled over with pride when Lyndon asked me to become an Honorary Vice President of the world famous, and my favourite brass bandBrian Turner CBE

Pride

In response Brian commented: "I was bowled over with pride when Lyndon asked me to become an Honorary Vice President of the world famous, and my favourite brass band.

I knew instantly that they didn't need me to play in the band so the chance to listen to them regularly and to officially support them annually at the Nationals at the Royal Albert Hall is a dream come true".

A formal presentation will be made at B&R's Massed Bands Concert in Huddersfield Town Hall with Boobs & Brass on Saturday 24th March.
