Busy Shrewsbury keeps the music making coming

It's all non-stop for Shrewsbury Brass Band at the moment — with newplayers, awards and concerts galore.

Shrewsbury
MD Steve Pritchard-Jones presented percussionist Dan McCulloch with the 'Band Person of the Year' award

It's been a very busy few months for Shrewsbury Brass Band having recently performed at a sell-out British Legion concert in their home town and having the pleasure of performing with the Pearl of Africa Choir.

And over the forthcoming Easter weekend the band will perform no less than four concerts on the Isle of Wight, plus a concert in Portsmouth on their way home.

New players

The band has also welcomed several new players, the form of Craig Foskett and Sarah Stephens on cornet and Carole Marsden on euphonium.

At the recent annual dinner Musical Director Steve Pritchard-Jones presented percussionist Dan McCulloch with the 'Band Person of the Year' award, with solo euphonium Nina Green gaining the 'Players Player of the Year' and principal cornet Eleanor Bedford taking the 'Best Soloist' accolade.
