Dr Jim Fox and All Brass Radio with plenty of great tracks

All Brass Radio: February 2018

At the end of every month, the automatic voting programme produces the Top 20 highest rated tracks as voted on by the listeners of All Brass Radio.

This month was a record. As the station gains listeners from all over the world, more and more votes are cast

Roughly 45 tracks were exchanged this month with new tracks available and some old tracks rotated off the playlist.

World flavour

While the Top 20 list has been showing more and more quality reflecting a more knowledgeable and diverse listenership, this month's list seems to go one step further — with a real 'world flavour' with bands not only from the UK, but from various European countries, USA, Australia and Canada.

New to the list this month is the Las Vegas Brass Band which plays mainly swing music. While this band's tracks have been on the playlist for many years, they have never made it into the Top 20 until now!

Meanwhile, the New York Low Brass is one of three tracks out of 545 that are not strictly brass band tracks. This ensemble plays a short, but intense version of the main title from the HBO series 'Game of Thrones'.

The Amsterdam Staff Band finishes the Top 20 list with a rousing arrangement of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah', whilst the list includes the chart topping Kirsty Abbotts as well as the fun of Ebbw Valley's 'Fat Bottom Girls'.
