There were plenty of well-deserved prizes presented at the recent Lydney Training & Starter Band Awards Evening.
Held at a local social club the event was aimed at getting members together to enjoy a social evening of fun, skittles, awards, food and more skittles!
Progress
The Lydney Training & Starter Band continues to thrive and now has over 45 members — many of which help out the senior band. The awards recognised the progress made in 2017 with the band performing at 25 events including an annual workshop with trombone star Brett Baker.

Taking a break from the skittles tournament, conductor Kevin Ford gave an overview of the past year including the involvement with composer Liz Lane's 'Innovation 216' project and successes at local solo contests. Further projects include a workshop with composer Tom Davoren.
'New Member Certificates' were presented to Zach, Ruth, Riley, Trudi, Jessica, Cam, Eliana, Adam, Imogen, Anna, Ben, Leo & Elliot, whilst Bronze 'Achievement Award Certificates' went to Riley and Sophie for developing their musicianship skills.
