Deep in the Forest a new contest stirs...

A brand new contest in the beautiful heart of the Forest of Dean hopes to attract plenty of entertaining visitors.

Scarr
The new contest is aimed at Second, Third and Fourth Section bands

A new outdoor contest aimed at Second, Third and Fourth Section bands will take place in the lovely rural setting of the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire.

It follows the refurbishment of the Scarr Bandstand which lies in a natural amphitheatre surrounded by the beautiful woodland of the Forest close to the ancient market town of Coleford near the outskirts of the small hamlet of Sling.

Generous prize fund

Following the success of a number of community events in 2017, the Friends of Scarr Bandstand have launched the event which will take place on Sunday 10th June. If it happens to rain, an indoor alternative is available.

There will be a prize fund of £1,500 for the Second, Third and Fourth Section bands to compete for with their 20 minute entertainment programmes, which must include one solo item.
