The Bolsover International Festival of Brass has announced that such has been the interest from bands that there are only a handful places left to be filled for their event which takes place on the 30th September.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "It's amazing to report, but we really do only have a handful of spaces to be filled with well over 40 bands already signed up to take part. All this and the contest is still eight months away.

It says a great deal about the way the contest has developed in the last few years, with the opportunity to perform to a worldwide audience that we have attracted so much interest.

All we can do is to urge bands who wish to take part to get in touch with us as soon as possible to avoid potential disappointment."
