Blidworth Welfare Band has been given a welcome boost in advance of their top section appearance at the Midlands Area Championships in March with the signing of a trio of players who bring with them a wealth of experience.

Moving to the Nottinghamshire based outfit are Keith Latham on Eb tuba who previously played with Thoresby Colliery, Steve Hill on 2nd cornet from Jaguar Land Rover and Simon Cheetham on 2nd horn, who is making a welcome return to banding.

Calibre

Musical Director, Simon Oates (centre) told 4BR: "Signing players of this calibre is a welcome boost as we prepare for the Area contest.

Having played at Thoresby with Keith and at Jaguar with Steve, I know they are great players and will help us greatly in Bedworth in March."
