The respected conductor and adjudicator Nigel Seaman will be racking up the air miles in the next few weeks as he once again travels to the southern hemisphere.

Nigel will lead Wellington Brass at the Australian National Championships in Melbourne over the Easter weekend and will fly out at the end of February to spend five weeks preparing the band as they seek to reclaim a title they last won in 2015 under MD David Bremner.

Wonderful time

"I'm thrilled to be able to make the trip once again,"Nigel said as he recalled his last epic journey in 2017 where was the adjudicator at the Australian and New Zealand Championships. "I had a wonderful time in both countries aided by some plenty of excellent brass band music making.

I'm really looking forward to teaming up with such a fine band and working with them for such an important contest."

Nigel revealed that he will also be leading Wellington Brass in some concerts and hopes to be able to give a number of workshops and coaching sessions to players and bands in addition to meeting up with old and new friends.

Tasmanian stop off

"I'm also hoping to pop over to Tasmania once more,"he said. "It made such a huge impression on me on my visit last year, so I can't miss the chance to return and mix sight-seeing with some banding.

It would be great to do that once more, so if any band wants to meet up, please get in touch!"
