Alan Seymour will take on the MD role with BMP Goodshaw

The BMP Goodshaw Band has announced the appointment of Alan Seymour as their new Musical Director.

Alan joins after enjoying a successful tenure at Sale Brass, including being crowned Butlins Mineworkers Fourth Section champion in 2016. The experienced conductor has also directed several North-East and Yorkshire bands, including Wetherby Silver and Bradford Metropolitan Concert Band.

Looking forward

Goodshaw Band Manager, Mark Robinson told 4BR: "We are looking forward to working with Alan, who has a wealth of brass banding experience. We are now looking forward to the Brass at the Guild and North West Area contests.

Alan has already made a difference to the sound and style of the band and we are sure this will contribute to our future success."

Honour

In response Alan stated: "It's an honour to be appointed MD to a band which has a wonderful 150 year history. The band is hard working and already making rapid progress.

We have made several key signings and the future looks bright. There are many quality players in the band and with a further influx we will have an excellent chance of success on the contest stage."
