A successful Arts Council England 'Grants for the Arts Programme' award secured by the Market Rasen Band will see Black Dyke travel to Lincoln in April to perform in concert at its world famous medieval cathedral.

World premieres

The concert on Saturday 28th April (7.30pm) will bring to close a day of workshops led by Director of Music, Prof Nicholas Childs, who will then conduct Black Dyke in giving the world premieres of two new works from composers William Himes and Paul Lovatt-Cooper. These will then be recorded by Market Rasen Band for a new CD release.

Grants for the Arts is funded by the National Lottery supported using public funding by Arts Council England and this award is one of the latest to recognise Black Dyke's unique role in helping promote brass band music making throughout the UK.
