The death has been announced of the respected and popular Cinderford Town Band cornet player Colin Davies.

Band spokesperson Ian Tomlins told 4BR: "Known affectionately 'Concorde' to all who knew him the brass band community, Colin passed away suddenly on Monday 15th January, and will be sadly missed by all his friends and playing colleagues.

All of our thoughts and condolences go to his wife Ruth."
