Listen to the Band: 27th February

The search for the next brass star reaches its semi-final stage as eight players hope to win a place as one four finalists in the BBC Young Brass Award competition.

Each will perform 10 minutes of music with Foden's Band under conductor Michael Fowles as they try to get a step nearer to lifting the trophy and claim the unique performance prize on offer.

Frank Renton presents and announces the names of the finalists, whilst Clare Freeman asks the players about the place music making has in their lives.

One of the best times to see Paris is in April, possibly in the evening, probably strolling along the Champs Elysees — perhaps taking in a visit to the Opera House where you might encounter a 'Phantom in the Night' or 'A Merry Widow'.

If you can't do any of this yourself at the moment then join Frank Renton who takes a whistle stop musical tour of 'The City of Light'.
