Brass Packers start their musical journey

A new brass ensemble will be taking their first musical steps on their home patch in March.

Brass Pack
The Brass Pack ensemble will take its first bow in Warrington in March.

A new brass ensemble has just been formed. 'Brass Pack' consists of trumpet players Tom Haslam, Chris Smith and Jenna McBride, trombonists Neil Samuel, Darren Gibson and Gavin Sever, tuba player Paul Conchie and percussionist Ian Bowd.

Inspired by established groups such as 'Lucky Chops' and 'Riot Jazz Brass Band', the group was the brain child of former Leyland trombone player Neil Samuel with all the performers sharing the same vision that playing music should be fun and entertaining to those that come to listen to it.

Opportunity

Speaking to 4BR Neil said: "The opportunity to play in a group that boasts some fantastic players is bringing the enjoyment back to some of us who perhaps lost interest in playing some time ago.

We have our first gig in March in Warrington and there is a real buzz about the event from both ourselves and the concert promoter too".
