The Aldbourne Band has announced that the experienced David Hirst will lead them at the West of England Regional Championships in Torquay in March.
It follows the recent departure of David Johnson who resigned a Musical Director after eight years at the helm.

Friends of Aldbourne Band secretary, Gavin Dixon told 4BR: "We would like to acknowledge the immense contribution David has made to the progress and standing of the band in recent years. He always emphasised the significance of the band's roots in the village and its musical accompaniment to village life.
In recognition of his contribution, we have appointed him an Honorary Member, which is reserved for those who have made an outstanding contribution to our band."
