The Elderberries Brass Group, based in Scholes near Leeds recently enjoyed a wonderful Christmas surprise with the award of £1,000 from the West Riding Masonic Charities to help purchase much needed instruments.
Community
The group was started in 2016 and provides the opportunity for what they call 'older' people in the community to learn and play brass instruments. They now have 14 members and have been in need of instruments for some time.
After numerous unsuccessful attempts to obtain funds from various community grants and 'Music for All' applications, the group was delighted to receive the substantial award from the West Riding Masonic Charities to purchase instruments and stands.
