The Association of Brass Band Adjudicators will host a Regional Test Piece Workshop on Sunday January 21st at the home of Foden's Band.
Second, Third and Fourth Sections
It will features in-depth analysis of the Second, Third and Fourth Section works that will be used around the country in the next couple of months, and will be led by the experienced trio of AoBBA members who will explore each work in detail; pinpointing possible pitfalls, suggesting rehearsal techniques and discussing performance approach.
The Second Section work, 'Ex Terra Lucem' by Jonathan Bates will be presented by Sarah Groarke-Booth at 1.00pm, followed at 1.45pm with John Roberts looking 'Napoleon on the Alps' by Philip Harper, the Third Section test.
There will also be the opportunity at 2.30pm to hear composer Rodney Newton look at his own work, 'World Tour' which will test the Fourth Section contenders.
The free workshop at Bradwell Village Hall will feature Roberts Bakery Band under Paul Lovatt-Cooper, whilst Simone Rebello will be on hand to consider the percussion requirements and challenges of each work4BR

There will also be time set aside for questions from attendees. The workshop is open to players, conductors and brass band supporters alike and will be held at Bradwall Village Hall, Bradwall Road, Sandbach, Cheshire, (CW11 1RG).
