There will be classes for all ages, abilities and instruments

Following the success of their 2016 event, the Burry Port Band will once again host the West Wales Solo & Ensemble Day on Saturday 27th January.

The event will be held at the Memorial Hall in the Welsh seaside town, a popular venue for the Welsh brass banding movement, with classes for players of all ages and abilities.

Ideal opportunity

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We hope that the event will be well supported by brass players from schools, ensembles and bands from across the South Wales area.

We believe it will be an ideal opportunity for youth bands, players and ensembles to showcase their talents to a wider audience in solo classes that combine slow melody and air-varie."

We hope that the event will be well supported by brass players from schools, ensembles and bands from across the South Wales areaBurry Port Band

Awards

To help promote a sense of inclusion each solo own-choice section will come with a separate prize for the best 'Slow Melody', with each entrant receiving an award ranked as 'Gold', 'Silver', 'Bronze' or 'Highly Commended'.
