Oldham's annual brass extravaganza 'Brass Monkeys' is back this weekend, with plenty of special guests making the early Christmas shopping experience much more musical fun.
The town centre will come alive with the sound of brass music played at three locations — Parliament Square, Oldham Parish Church and High Street between 11.00am and 4.00pm.
Funky sounds
Heading the fun will be Cory, as the number 1 ranked band in the world makes the trip up from Wales to perform in the festival event alongside the funky sounds of Back Chat Brass and Global Grooves Brass (above) together with special collaborations from Bollywood Brass Band and the Middleton Youth Band.
Additional performances will be heard from strong local representatives such as Boarshurst, Dobcross Brass Monkeys and Tame Valley Brass, plus Oldham Music Service. Children can also monkey around with fun arts and crafts from Oldham Play Action Group throughout the day.
