Hatfield stars claim their Stans

The Hatfield Band has been handing out its awards — serious ones and not so serious ones...

Hatfield
There were plenty of awards on offer on the night

The Hatfield Band recently held its annual award evening. Affectionately referred to as the 'Stans' the awards were a mixture of formal and informal honours in recognition of individual and collective achievements.

Awards

The 'Young Player of the Year' was presented to Nigel Kennedy, whilst the 'Most Improved' award went to Will Parker.

Claire Taylor was the 'Player's Player', with Pete Tombs the 'Bandsperson of the Year'. The Ken Johnson Memorial Shield for outstanding service went to Robert Brown, whilst the keenly anticipated 'Best Section' went to the front row cornets.

Stans

The more informal 'Stans' (in categories as diverse as 'Best Male Karaoke' and 'Most Shouted At') were won by Nigel Kennedy, Christine Lippeatt, Charlotte Kennedy, Nancy Rose Fitzsimons and Thomas Kennedy.
