4BR has been informed that after 18 years at the helm, Mark Ager has stepped down as Musical Director of Haverhill Silver Band.

Established

During that time Mark (above) has overseen the most successful period in the band's long history, culminating in Haverhill Silver establishing itself as a highly competitive Championship Section contender at major events.

In addition he also helped raise the band's concert profile, building a well deserved reputation for entertainment and innovation.

Mark is leaving the band in a very strong position and I know everyone would like to thank him for his many years of hard work and dedication as our MDBand Chairman, Tom Walker

Strong position

Band Chairman, Tom Walker told 4BR: "Mark is leaving the band in a very strong position and I know everyone would like to thank him for his many years of hard work and dedication as our MD.

We are also pleased to announce that the experienced Paul Filby has agreed to take on the role following his departure."
