The Leicester BBA contest has attracted an excellent field of 55 competing bands.

The Leicestershire Brass Band Association has attracted a fine line-up of competitors for its annual own-choice contest on Sunday 19th November, at Loughborough Endowed Schools.

55 bands from up and down the country will showcase their choices for the adjudication panels consisting Brett Baker (Championship), Chris Wormald (First Section), David Hirst (Second and Third), Steve Hartley (Fourth and Unregistered).

Trainee adjudicator

Continuing to support the development of adjudicators, the LBBA will also be providing an opportunity for a shadow adjudicator. Philip Judge, a trombonist and a trainee the Association of Brass Band Adjudicators, will join David Hirst in the box for the Second Section event.

Pleased with new home

LBBA Chairman Steve Plant told 4BR: "We are really looking forward to welcoming bands back to Loughborough. We were delighted with the feedback received following our change to Loughborough Endowed Schools last year, and it's certainly paid off.

We are very pleased with our new home and the strong line up of bands entering this year, as well as increasing interest from traders who will be in our catering hall throughout the day."
