Tubular Brass adds to UniBrass attractions

The 2018 UniBrass Championships are open for entries — and come with the added attraction of Tubular Brass.

  UniBrass will welcome bands and Tubular Brass next February

The UniBrass Championship organising committee has announced further details for the 2018 event, including details for the Gala Concert and information for registering bands.

Key part

The Gala Concert has become a key part of the UniBrass atmosphere on the weekend of the 17th/18th February, with the intention inspiring future generations of brass players.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "We are delighted to announce that the Gala Concert on 17th February at the York Barbican will feature the critically acclaimed brass ensemble Tubular Brass."

Meanwhile, registration for UniBrass 2018 (which takes place on February 18th) has now opened. As established in 2016, the championship will feature two sections of competition, allowing for more bands to take part.

Tintwistle Band

January 1 • We have a vacancy for an Eb bass player to complete our bass section.. We are looking forward to competing in the 2nd section Midlands area contest in March 2026.. We rehearse Monday&Thursday 8-10pm in our own bandroom under the baton of our MD Jim Henson.

December 30 • We are a friendly & sociable Second Section Band with an eye on the 2026 Areas. We have vacancies for a FRONT ROW CORNET player and PERCUSSIONISTS.. Our MD is Will Douglas and we rehearse in Welwyn Garden City on Sunday evenings from 7.00-9.00pm.
