From Sinatra to funk at Pennine Music

Two brilliant new releases from Pennine Music feature 'Old Blue Eyes' and a pulsating bit of fanfare and funk. Now's that's what I call music...

Pennine
Why not add that little bit of Frank Sinatra to your entertainment programmes from Pennine Music...

As bands return from their summer break, Pennine Music has two new releases that are guaranteed to entertain on both the concert and contest stage.

Sinatra

Frank Sinatra's hit, 'It was a very good Year' tells of a performer's life as they reflect upon their past, aged 17 to the autumn of their years.

Brilliantly arranged for the first time for brass band with either a soloist (or vocalist), or for added entertainment value, spread the years across various (aging!) players in the band (the scoring is perfect for this) it is a cracker for bands looking to add something different to their programmes.

Fanfare and Funk

Meanwhile, Carlton Main Frickley cornet player, Sam Fisher has produced a fantastic concert opener called 'Fanfare & Funk'.

At just over three minutes, the music is in two clear sections, depicting the contrasting styles and absolutely pulsating with rhythm and drive.

It's got the lot in fact — complete with the chance to add choreography to enhance that opening experience.
