There is plenty of big money to be won this weekend at the Doctor Martin Wainstones Cup competition, which is taking place on Sunday 10th September.
Reigning champion Co-operative Funeralcare will head up from competing at the British Open Championship in Birmingham the previous day to defend its title against a field of seven rivals.
£4,000 first prize
Each must perform an own-choice test-piece, plus a solo item and a march in their entertainment style programmes to catch the ear of adjudicator Dr Robert Childs if they are to bag the first prize of £4,000.
There are also generous prizes on offer for the podium finishers and individual award winners.
Co-operative Funeralcare, will be up against Elland Silver, East Yorkshire Motor Services, Easington Colliery, Fishburn, Hammonds Saltaire, Reg Vardy and Thoresby Colliery.

Test pieces
The test pieces that will feature will include, 'Pageanty', 'Fraternity', 'Gallery of Distant Memories', 'Spiriti' and 'The Torchbearer'.
The contest starts at 11.00 am at the Princess Alexander Auditorium at Yarm School. Tickets are £8 with £6 concessions with under-16's free.
