Ware Brass has announced the appointment of Craig Patterson as their new MD following the recent relocation of highly regarded conductor Phillip Littlemore.
Welcome
Band Chairperson Lisa King told 4BR: "We are very pleased to welcome Craig to the role. He immediately impressed with his outstanding musical ability and we feel that he will challenge the band musically and also fit in as a member of the Ware Brass family.
We are looking forward to the musical journey ahead with him at the helm."
Title winning credentials
Craig began his conducting career on a UK tour of 'Les Miserables', making his Assistant Musical Director debut at the Liverpool Empire.
Since then he has taken Hitchin from the Third to the First Section, winning the Third Section National title and the London & Southern Counties Regional Competitions in the Third and Second Sections along the way.
Craig has also conducted Wantage Silver Band for the last two years, winning the Southern Counties Autumn Contest twice and qualifying for the National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall.
I hope to continue the great work Phillip has done with the band and the professional attitude and warm welcome made me feel at home straight awayCraig Patterson
Continue great work
He stated: "I hope to continue the great work Phillip has done with the band and the professional attitude and warm welcome made me feel at home straight away.
Howard Snell has always been a big influence on my music making since studying with him at the RNCM. As Phillip also played under Howard and studied the trumpet I hope that this common ground will make the transition an easy and successful one."
Craig will make his concert debut with the band on Sunday 10th September in Ware Priory Gardens.
