Black Dyke under MD Prof Nicholas Childs on stage at the Brass Band Gala Concert at Symphony Hall, Birmingham.

Frank Renton presents highlights including Peter Graham's famed 'Shine as the Light' and a classic James Bond theme, 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'.

Listen to the Band: 3rd October

The massed bands of Black Dyke and Cory provided the climax to the Brass Band Gala at Symphony Hall, the day after the British Open.

Frank Renton presents as they perform a piece originally made famous through its frequent use on the BBC during the Second World War, Safroni's march 'Imperial Echoes'.

The bands also play Leroy Anderson's 'Bugler's Holiday' as a weekend of world class brass band music making ends with Tchaikovsky's '1812 Overture'.
