Symphony Hall has announced that the traditional post- British Open Sunday Gala Concert (10th September) will this year feature Black Dyke and Cory Bands.
Between them, the Yorkshire and Welsh duo have won multiple British Open titles, and this year the bands will be joined for the afternoon event by Isobel Daws, the talented trombonist won the BBC Radio 2 Young Brass Award Winner 2017, who will perform Gordon Langford's 'Rhapsody for Trombone'.

Cory led by Philip Harper, will also feature the talents of principal cornet Tom Hutchinson and solo euphonium Glyn Williams in a set that will include items from their 2016 Brass in Concert winning programme

Meanwhile, Prof Nicholas Childs and Black Dyke will also feature their star euphonium player, Daniel Thomas in their solo set that will include works by Paul Lovatt-Cooper and Bruce Broughton, before joining forces for a massed bands finale.
