Quintessentially perfect English...

Aldbourne entertain their audience amid a backdrop that could have come out of an episode of The Archers....

Aldbourne
As traditional a brass band concert as you could ever imagine...

The Aldbourne Band has been providing summer entertainment amid the most quintessentially perfect English backdrop you can imagine — on their local village green, surrounded by thatched cottages, a pub and church.

Not surprisingly, their 'Proms on the Green' concert (above) attracted a large and appreciative audience — with another to come at the start of September, with a programme that showcased a trio of soloists and music as diverse as Verdi and Mozart to 'Les Mis' and Glen Miller.

Highlights

One of the undoubted highlights was the performance of young soprano vocalist Tilly Wale, who gave a delightful rendition of 'Dreamed a Dream', as well as leading the community singing for the traditional concert finale of 'Rule Britannia' and 'Land of Hope and Glory'.

With the excellent weather and a huge selection of the type of cakes that would have passed an audition to be on 'Bake Off' with Mary Berry, the fundraising was as successful as the playing under MD, David Johnson4BR
