A new venue but plenty of great musical talent will once again be on show

Brass Bands England has announced that entry details and information packs are now available for the 2018 National Youth Brass Band Championships of Great Britain, to be held on Sunday 22nd April at Warwick Arts Centre.

The test-pieces selected for the Championship and Intermediate Sections have also been revealed, and pay tribute to the memory of the popular composer and arranger Gordon Langford.

Musical talents

Langford, who died in April this year, was well known for his output for the brass band medium, and two of his works will test the musical talents of the competitors.

His overture 'Metropolis' will be the set-work for the Championship Section, with 'West Country Fantasy' set to challenge the bands in the Intermediate Section.
