Coleshill Town Band has appointed the vastly experienced Alwyn Green as its new Musical Director.
A distinguished musician, who for many years was the principal bass trombone of the City of Birmingham Orchestra, Alwyn was also a founder member of the Palm Court Theatre Orchestra and the Prince of Wales Brass, and MD of the Berkley Salon Ensemble and the Berkley Street Dance Orchestra (both CBSO offshoot groups).
Highly respected
He teaches part time at both Birmingham University and the Birmingham Conservatoire and is frequently engaged to coach at other colleges and institutions. He is also a highly respected teacher and innovator of projects with children and adults with learning disabilities.
As a composer and arranger he undertakes regular commissions from the CBSO and other major orchestras and bands and a number of his pieces have been broadcast, commercially recorded and published.
