The talented youngsters of Consett Junior School Band recently spent a day with White River Brass preparing for what was a memorable concert in their local Empire Theatre alongside Consett Salvation Army Band and Consett Brass.
Workshops
50 young players aged between 7 and 11 years old thoroughly enjoyed the experience of learning in workshops led by a number of stars such as Black Dyke pairing Brett Baker and Keith Britcliffe.
The children worked hard in a full band rehearsal in the afternoon before being presented with their certificates in an afternoon school assembly. The younger children's certificate was for passing the workshop with the older children gaining recognition for their hard work before they left the school.
It was fantastic. The children love this day every year and it is something that they work so hard towards. Everyone is so proud of them allspokesperson
