International links celebrated in Delph

The international sound of brass has been heard in Delph over the last couple of weeks — even if the accents were a bit different at times!

Tanunda
The Tanunda Band was one of the welcome international guests of the Delph Band

There has certainly been an international sound of brass emanating from the village of Delph over the last couple of weeks — with the Saddleworth band enjoying the musical company of ensembles from Norway and Australia.

The Norwegians of Manger Folkehogskule and Flora- Bremanger and the Australian's of Tanunda Town certainly enjoyed their visits, which included concerts in the famous Delph Band Club and local church as well as contest appearances on the Whit Friday circuit.

Wonderful way

With recordings for Listen to the Band and extensive press coverage, and with Delph Band eventually claiming six prizes at the seven contests they attended under co-Musical Director, Jonathan Davies, it was a wonderful way to round off a memorable time for the band.

One of the highlights was a concert showcasing Delph and Flora led by MD Phil Godwin and Johnny Saelmyer at the local church where the music was rounded off with three traditional Norwegian tunes4BR
