With summer concerts just around the corner, some new music releases from Pennine Music come at the perfect time for bands looking to entertain audiences.
Brass in Concert winner
A stunning arrangement of 'Innuendo' by Queen, which claimed the prize of 'Best new Composition or Arrangement' at Brass in Concert in 2008 is now available to all bands.
Arranged by Peter Meechan it is a fantastic take on a classic bit of pop-rock featuring antiphonal trumpets, hand claps and host of other clever effects — and is a perfect choice for bands looking for something that little bit different.
Cornet Solos
Two cracking cornet solos are also being released.
'Cheer Up, Charlie' comes from the iconic from the film 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' and is a lovely lyrical work based on a sumptuous melodic line.
The band parts remain integrated and interesting throughout to form a superb solo item for both concert and contest stages.
Meanwhile, 'I See the Light' is a cornet solo taken from the Disney film, 'Tangled' — a fantastic animated tale that captured the hearts of cinema going families.
Composer Alan Menken stated it was his favourite from the hit film — and with its simple but effective structure it is the perfect solo for younger players to showcase their talents.

Manchester
Meanwhile, Andi Cook's arrangement of the hymn tune 'Manchester' continues to raise funds for the Manchester Evening News' fundraising page for the victims and families of the Manchester Arena attack.
The work was performed at the RNCM by Tubular Bells under the direction of Sandy Smith and has so far raised over £1,600 for the cause. It is a tremendous arrangement that has allowed bands from all corners of the globe unite and donate to this worthy cause.
