Foden's family set for Warrington celebration

The family of bands that make up the Foden's organisation will be showcasing their talents in Warrington in June.

Fodens Youth Band
The Foden's Youth Band has already performed at major venues such as the RNCM in Manchester

Over 100 playing members of the Foden's family of bands will return to Warrington's Parr Hall on the 11th June for a special celebratory concert.

Active role

The event has been arranged by Accent Music Education Hub who since 2015 has played an active role in supporting the Foden's Junior Band, which now meets monthly in Warrington to enable young musicians from the area to experience the same expert guidance and tutoring that is enjoyed by members of the Foden's Youth Band.

The Junior Band caters for young musicians up to Grade 5 standard and acts as a feeder to the Foden's Youth Band.

Youth beacon

Formed in 2012, the Foden's Youth Band has become a beacon of youth development work carried out by the Foden's , and which is supported by The Love Music Trust, RNCM and Besson.

Meeting monthly, the band gives young brass and percussion players opportunities to receive expert guidance, perform challenging repertoire and perform at prestigious venues — including in recent times, the RNCM Festival of Brass, Manchester Cathedral alongside international trumpet star Jens Lindemann, as well recording four tracks on the most recent Foden's 'Patrons Choice' CD release.

Proud

Event co-ordinator Ian Raisbeck told 4BR: "We are extremely proud of our youth educational work and look forward to showing off our various youth organisations as well as Foden's Band at the concert. Each band will perform a mini concert set before combining for a massed finale."
