New euph duo at Enderby

The ambitious Enderby Band takes to the stage with a new euphonium team.

The Enderby Band has announced a new look euphonium line-up with the duo of Susanna Blamire and Bob Stradling.

New duo

Susanna joins the Leicestershire-based outfit following her studies at Birmingham Conservatoire. Susanna switched to the euphonium when she moved to the US and spent most of her formative years playing in American wind ensembles.

A move to Norway in 2012 saw her attend a specialist arts school, which is where she decided to further her studies in music at Birmingham.

Meanwhile, Bob brings a wealth of experience, and has been a highly respected figure in the Midlands banding scene as a former long-standing member of Kibworth Band, and more recently the MD of Amington and Daventry. During his time at Daventry he led them from the Third to the First Section.

Great additions

Enderby MD Simon Gresswell told 4BR: "Susanna and Bob are great additions to the band. They are already gelling as a team, so I'm delighted."

The new section recently made their debuts at the band's Organisation Concert, which featured all five bands within the Enderby family and which saw a massed bands finale involving over 120 musicians.
