Places are filling up fast for this year's annual National Tenor Horn Spotlight, which will be held at the University of Salford on Sunday 14th May.
Bates lead
The event, which will start at 10.00am is sponsored by Geneva Instruments, and will be led by their Instrument Development Artist and Foden's Band solo horn player Jonathan Bates.
The free event, which will feature a wide range of subjects, workshops and performances, is limited to 60 places, with just a handful now left up for grabs.
Special commission
Once again there will be a chance for delegates to work up a brand new commission for tenor horn ensemble, this year composed by RNCM composition student Jinjun Lee.
Jinjun has worked extensively with many of the college's leading ensembles, and has produced a short 5 movement work called '5x5' for the day.
The day will culminate in a short gala concert given by the Salford University Symphonic Winds — a 10-piece group of current students, whilst Geneva Instruments will also be attending with a selection of the brand new tenor horn models for anyone who wishes to test them out.
