The North East Midlands Youth Band received a huge boost of confidence and support from Yamaha last weekend, as one of their leading performance artists joined them on their Spring Course.
Tuba star Simon Gresswell linked up with the team of tutors to provide the 54 players with expert advice and help as the band prepares for a joint concert with the Blidworth Welfare Band in June.
Highest quality
The band was formed to give young brass and percussion instrumentalists aged 8-18, the opportunity to perform advanced music and receive the highest quality teaching, care and help to provide the brass band movement and the music profession with the next generation of brass players.
The number of players grows with each course and we are all very proud of what they are achieving with the help of world class tutors such as SimonMD, Martin Heartfield
Exciting
Simon joined the team of Gary Wyatt, Stan Lippeatt, Michael Dodds, Brett Baker and Neil Edwards to support Youth Band Director Martin Heartfield, who told 4BR: "I'm delighted that with the support of the Notts Music Hub, NEMBBA and now Yamaha, the future of this exciting young band is very bright.
