Elland Silver Band recently held its annual 'Oscars Night' at a local Greek restaurant, where authentic food and dances, prizes and the odd bit of plate smashing were on the menu.

And when the golden envelopes were opened, the various category winners of the Oscars were; Gregory Morris (Most Improved Player under 18); William Spencer (Most Improved Player over 18); Emma Barton & Lewis Barton (Most Promising Newcomers); Baritone & Euphoniums -Marija Novicane, Megan Reynolds, Anne Squires, Edwin Farrar (Best Section); Richard Knight (Bandperson of the Year) and Marija Novicane (Players Player of the Year)

Every band member was also presented with a commemorative plaque to celebrate moving into the Championship Section in 20174BR
