The North East Midlands Brass Band Association recently held its annual contest at the Field Mill Centre in South Normanton, where bands performed the regional set-works ahead of their appearances at Bedworth this weekend to impress adjudicator David Hirst.
There were confidence boosting victories for Carlton Brass, Bakewell Silver, Matlock and Ilkeston Brass as well as richly deserved Long Service Awards made by Association President, Marie Smith to Ken Dunkin (70 years service); Geoff Hawley (50 years service) and Barry Tupper (50 years service)
Next year's event will be held on Sunday 25th February.
