ISB take Centre Stage

The International Staff Band of the Salvation Army becomes the latest high profile endorsee of Centre Stage Percussion.

The International Band of the Salvation Army (ISB) is the latest endorsee of Centre Stage's percussion range, after its renowned team of experienced players put the instruments through their paces.

ISB Band Manager Kevin Coates told 4BR: "We are delighted to be involved in this new partnership. Centre Stage's commitment to high-quality manufacture and after-sales service is extremely important to a busy band like the ISB, and our highly-skilled percussion team is looking forward to many years of performing on outstanding equipment."

Growing list

The International Staff Band joins a growing list of world class ensembles using Centre Stage percussion, with the likes of newly crowned Yorkshire Area champion, Black Dyke, BBC Philharmonic and Royal Ballet Symphonia and the highly-acclaimed percussion quartet '4-mality', now endorsing the company's products.

Centre Stage's percussion range incorporates all main percussion areas — from timpani, xylophones and marimbas to drum kits, cymbals and a range of over 100 options of sticks and mallets.

Centre Stage has also registered its first company overseas with the launch of a base in Neuchâtel near Bern. Centre Stage Switzerland is now supplying the buoyant musical market there with both percussion and uniforms.

Making a mark

MD Martin Gernon told 4BR: "At the launch of Centre Stage Percussion, I remember being asked how we would make our mark in a very crowded market. My answer was that it would take time and dedication, but quality would be the key.

That has been the case — from manufacturing to customer service. Now I believe we are the market leaders — as our customer feedback tells us."

He added: "Being able to offer our service to the burgeoning Swiss market also brings a new dimension to the Centre Stage brand, and we are look forward to some very exciting times ahead."

February 5 • Wantage Band (championship section) has a vacancy for TOP 2ND CORNET. This would suit a player with experience in a championship/first section band. Rehearsals take place every Sun 7:30pm and Wed 8pm in Wantage with highly experienced MD Chris King.


Haverhill Silver Band

February 4 • Haverhill Silver Band (champ section) seeks a BACK ROW CORNET. This is a superb opportunity to join East Anglia's premier brass band for the area contest, the Senior Cup, Whit Friday and beyond. Applications to join after the area contest also considered.

February 1 • Due to some seating changes, Bilton Silver (Rugby) requires a percussionist to join our Championship Section band for the Midlands Regional contest. Rehearsals are held on Monday and Friday at 7-45pm in our own purpose built bandroom.
