Andover Town Band heads for Torquay this weekend for the West of England Regional Championships buoyed by the successes of the players in their own Youth and Training Bands.
Both bands entertained a sell-out audience in a local concert displaying the six trophies the young players won at the recent Wessex Area Contest.
Good hands
Musical Director Steve Large told 4BR: "Our band's future is in good hands with a terrific crop of players. Thanks to hard work from tutors, parents, supporters and of course the players themselves, they took the Wessex Area contest by storm.
Meanwhile, the senior Andover ensemble also gave their supporters the chance to hear their preparation on Dean Goffin's 'Rhapsody in Brass' boosted by a very substantial cheque from the Waitrose Community Fund, the supermarket's green token scheme."

Proud
Steve added: "We are proud to represent Andover, to entertain local audiences and to develop great musical talent in our community.
But we are also very fortunate to have great supporters, from our sponsors Mitutoyo and the local Councils to generous businesses such as Waitrose and individuals.
