Just a few days before they take part in the West of England Regional Championship event in Torquay, Bodmin Town Band has announced that they have returned home after half a century away.
It follows a decision made at the end of 2016 not to renew the lease with Bodmin Town Council to remain at Narisa Hall in Priory Park in the town where they have rehearsed since 1957, and instead return to their own Social Club building.

Narisa Hall was originally presented to the town in 1957 by Prince Chula Chakrabongse of Thailand, but in 2009 was completely destroyed by fire — including many band instruments, music and memorabilia.
Rebuilt in 2013 the band returned again, but rising rental costs and increasing anti-social behaviour had made it difficult for them to remain.

Welcome home
A spokesperson told 4BR: "The move has already created a homely atmosphere during and after rehearsals, with room to accommodate both supporters and visitors to listen.
We can now enjoy a quick post-rehearsal drink as well, whilst Club Members have also welcomed the sound of the band as they enjoy their evenings."
